Understanding ICT Test Fixtures

In-Circuit Test (ICT) fixtures are custom-built tools designed to keep populated circuit boards steady during testing. By using a specialized “bed-of-nails” probe setup, these fixtures make direct contact with your board to catch assembly issues—like short circuits, open paths, or misplaced components—early in the production process.

To make sure every test is accurate and reliable, Fixtronic builds these fixtures using high-precision G10/FR4 epoxy glass plates and ultra-fast drilling technology (up to 200,000 RPM). This allows for exceptional alignment accuracy down to 0.005 mm between the probe plate and the moving alignment plate, so even tiny test points align perfectly every time.
